Creativity Blog Post 2
Hello everyone, this week I decided to create a mind
map for my creativity blog post.
The mind map was covered in the textbook Graphic Design
Solutions, 6th edition by Robin Landa on page 97.
She states that a mind map is a visual representation,
diagram, or presentation of the various ways words, terms, themes, images,
thoughts, or ideas relate to one another.
There is a central keyword or thought, and all other
words, thoughts, or images stem from and are linked to the central idea around
that central focal point.
Mapping is a brainstorming and visual diagramming tool
used to lead to an idea or to realize connections; it is also called word
mapping, idea mapping, mind mapping™, word clustering, and spider diagramming.
A mind map is a diagram used to visualize, structure, and classify ideas.
I used the website miro.com to create my mind maps,
there was a small learning curve but I eventually got the hang of it.
I first created a mind map covering chapter 5 with the
central keyword: Design Concept.

Visualization.
I highly encourage others to create mind maps as an
exercise in breaking down complex or broad topics into components and
subcomponents of the main idea or subject, it reinforces learning and acts as a
quick reference study guide.
Until next time,
Phil
