Visual Storytelling
Creativity Blog Post 4
Since we were children, we have played association games. Whether it is colors, the alphabet, or numbers, we naturally associate certain categories with the descriptions or adjectives.
Your task is to list three things that meet the criteria described:
A musical group, movie title and a cocktail that all have a color in the name.
I completed the exercise with the following responses:
- Musical Group: The Black Eyed Peas
- Movie Title: The Green Mile
- Cocktail: Blue Hawaiian
These choices are culturally familiar, but each belongs to a completely different category.
The task was simple on the surface: choose a musical group, movie title, and cocktail that all include a color in their name. By limiting the unifying element to "color," the exercise encourages flexibility, pattern recognition, and associative thinking, all critical to building stronger creative problem-solving skills.
In the future, I can explore branding ideas by using themes like emotion, seasons, or color.
